Jason Harmon is the founder of Ascend Disability Lawyers. Originally focusing exclusively on Social Security Disability, Jason has expanded his practice to include Veterans’ Disability Benefits, Long Term Disability, ERISA claims, and other employer related issues that the working man or woman commonly face when he or she is no longer able to work. He is a published author in the ever-changing area of disability law.
Jason was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended college at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, where he double-majored in English and Psychology. After college, he worked for a law firm as a non-attorney representative, traveling to over 300 disability hearings around the country, and writing briefs for the law firm. The firm went on to become one of the preeminent SSD firms in the country.
Soon thereafter, he attended Mississippi College School of Law, where he held leadership positions in numerous organizations, including the Moot Court Board. During Law school, Jason continued to represent disabled individuals in their hearings, and also served as a Guardian Ad Leitum in the law school adoption clinic, assisting the court with placing children in good homes. He graduated from Law School with honors.
After graduation, Jason founded Ascend Disability Lawyers in New Orleans. The firm has expanded to include satellite offices along the Gulf Coast, and serves deserving clients nationwide. His firm has helped thousands of individuals fight for their Social Security disability benefits, and he has personally represented clients in hundreds of hearings.
